A multi-restaurant chain management platform — a web operations workspace, a staff app, and a waiter app — so brand settings, outlets, orders, inventory, staffing, and guest service stay aligned across the group with live sync between the hub and the floor.

The Problem We Solved

Multi-location restaurant groups often run on a patchwork of POS screens, spreadsheet rosters, aggregator dashboards, and group chats. Menu and pricing drift by outlet, managers approve shift swaps by text, waiters lose track of which round is in the kitchen, and owners only see the real P&L after week-end exports. Platops needed one system shaped around how a chain actually operates — brand and outlet control in a web workspace, floor staff on a phone, waiters on a floor-ops app — with none of those surfaces drifting out of sync.

The Complexity — One Brand, Three Surfaces, Live Sync

An owner changing a price, a manager approving a swap, a waiter sending a kitchen round, and an accountant reading margin are the same order of events across a permission-aware web workspace and two mobile apps. Order status has to move Received → Accepted → In-prep → Ready → Served in real time; tables need merge, split, and transfer; inventory and plate cost have to stay honest against recipes; and every role — owner, outlet manager, accountant, waiter, floor staff — only sees the modules their access matrix allows.

  • Shared menu, order, table, roster, and inventory state across web and mobile
  • Role- and outlet-scoped navigation with invite flows and an access matrix
  • Dine-in, takeaway, and aggregator channels in one order pipeline
  • Live sync between the operations hub and staff / waiter apps

The Solution — Admin, Staff App, and Waiter App on One Backend

We built Platops around a Next.js web operations workspace and two Flutter apps — staff and waiter — backed by a Node.js, Express, and TypeScript API with MongoDB, Redis, and Socket.IO for live events. Owners and managers run brand, outlets, menu, orders, floor, inventory, staff, CRM, roles, analytics, and reports from one dark-themed dashboard. Floor staff clock in, manage schedule and swaps, and see hours and pay. Waiters run tables, rounds, status, and bills — publishing kitchen updates straight back to the hub.

Feature Showcase

Platops — 01 — Admin

01 — Admin

Run the brand, every outlet, one workspace.

Web operations for owners and managers: group KPIs, cross-outlet orders, floor board, inventory & POs, roster and CRM, menu publishing, roles, and exportable reports — with org switching and permission-aware navigation.

  • Overview & analytics — revenue, AOV, food cost, margin, channel mix, menu engineering
  • Orders, tables, inventory & PO — pipeline, floor board, ledger, recipes, plate cost
  • Staff, customers, outlets, menu — roster, swaps, loyalty, multi-location catalog & publish
  • Roles, settings, reports & audit — access matrix, tax & tier settings, P&L and change trail
Platops — 02 — Staff App

02 — Staff App

Clock in, cover a shift, see your pay.

Mobile app for restaurant floor staff: attendance with location check, week schedule and swap requests, hours & pay visibility, and typed alerts — with outlet-manager actions when the role calls for it.

  • Home — clock in/out with location check, today and tomorrow shifts, recent alerts
  • Schedule & swaps — week strip, day detail, request / cancel, manager approve or decline
  • Hours & pay — period summary, hourly rate, daily hours, payslip history
  • Alerts & live sync — shift, swap, and schedule notifications with a connection indicator
Platops — 03 — Waiter App

03 — Waiter App

Table to kitchen to bill, on the floor.

Floor-ops app for waitstaff: pick a table, build and customize rounds, send to the kitchen, track prep through service, then split and close the bill — with transfer, merge, and live publish back to the hub.

  • Tables — zone floor map with Available, Occupied, Order placed, Billing, Cleaning
  • Menu & cart — categories, modifiers, draft vs sent rounds, send Round N to kitchen
  • Order status — Received → Accepted → In-prep → Ready → Served
  • Bill — taxed totals, guest split, Cash / Card / UPI, close bill and free the table

How We Made It Simple

Each role only sees its slice: owners see the group, managers see their outlet, staff see the shift, waiters see the floor. Live sync keeps menu, orders, and roster changes consistent everywhere, so nobody re-enters the same update into a second tool.

  • One menu and order record across web and mobile
  • Permission-aware navigation instead of one dashboard for everyone
  • Swap and kitchen events publish live — no status chase on chat
  • Bill close-out frees the table the moment payment lands
