After the scoping call you receive a written scope: what the first version includes, what it does not, the milestones, and the timeline. You review it before anything is signed, so the quote is against something concrete rather than a vague range.
What the agreement covers
Work starts only after the agreement is signed. It sets out, in plain terms:
- Scope, milestones, and how changes to scope are handled
- Payment per milestone
- Assignment of code and IP to you
- Confidentiality and data protection terms
- Support after launch, and what happens if either side stops
